Far from home, but never far from love
I have no crowd, no circle, no friends,
Yet I keep walking until each day ends.
I do not seek comfort in smoke or in drink,
I sit with my thoughts and quietly think.
In a distant land beneath unfamiliar skies,
I hide my loneliness behind my eyes.
My family lives across the sea,
My children grow where I cannot be.
I work, I wait, I silently strive,
Holding on to the love that keeps me alive.
No loud celebrations, no evening cheer,
Only memories I hold so dear.
The hardest battles are often unseen,
Fought in the spaces that lie in between.
I crossed oceans not to chase wealth alone,
But to build a future for the hearts I call home.
Though I walk this foreign land all by myself each day,
I know God walks beside me, guiding every step along the way.
I sacrifice my today for their tomorrow,
Carrying both hope and sorrow.
Distance may separate and oceans may divide,
But my love for them will always be my guide.
I trust God’s timing, though the road feels long,
For faith gives strength when I feel less strong.
One day this waiting will come to an end,
And my lonely journey will gently bend.
Until that day, I will patiently roam,
Carrying my family in my heart, wherever I call home.
